   The Office for Solicitation and Selection of the Slogan for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games

   January 1st, 2005

   Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (hereinafter referred to as "BOCOG") hereby organizes Solicitation and Selection of the Slogan for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (hereinafter referred to as the "Olympic Slogan Solicitation" or the "Campaign" ) to solicit the Slogan for the 2008 Olympic Games. The Olympic Slogan Solicitation will be organized and supervised by the Office for Solicitation and Selection of the Slogan for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (hereinafter referred to as the "Olympic Slogan Solicitation Office").

   The details are as follows.

   1. The Olympic Slogan Solicitation begins from January 1st,2005 and ends on January 31st.

   2. The participating Slogan should be an embodiment of the concept of "Green Olympics, Hi-Tech Olympics and People's Olympics" with "People's Olympic" as its highlight.

   The Slogan should reflect the unique cultural background and humanism of China and Beijing.

   The Slogan should be easy to read and remember, and can be understood and shared by people from different cultures.

   The Slogan should be emotional and inspiring, and can be presented with strong visual effects.

   The Slogan should also fully reflect the Olympic Spirit.

   3. The selection of Participating Slogans will begin from February 1st,2005 and end on March 31st, 2005 and will be conducted by a panel appointed by BOCOG.

   After preliminary selection, ten Slogans out of all Participating Slogans will be submitted to the Executive Board of BOCOG for final selection, and only one Slogan, both in Chinese and English, will be finally selected as the Slogan for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

   4. All participants must fill out and sign the Entry Form and submit to the Olympic Slogan Solicitation Office.

   The Entry Form, which is available on the official website of BOCOG(www.beijing2008.cn), can be submitted to the following address via mail:

   Participants who choose to submit Participating Slogans via email should go through all procedures for the submission by following the Olympic Slogan Solicitation Office's further instruction.

   5. The participant of the final selected Slogan will receive a Certificate issued by BOCOG.

   6. All the disputes regarding the Campaign shall be governed and construed by the law of the People's Republic of China. BOCOG reserves the right of final interpretation of the Campaign.
