Bonn, Germany -- Today, the London 2012 Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (London 2012) has launched its new brand and vision during a launching ceremony at The Roundhouse in Camden, London, Great Britain.

Designed by Wolf Ollins, the new London 2012 brand symbolizes the four key brand pillars of access, participation, stimulation and inspiration, culminating in the brand vision of 'Everyone's Games'. It is the first time a Host City brand mark has included the Paralympic Games, representing London's commitment to hosting a truly integrated Paralympic Games. The new emblems for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are based on the same core shape, reflecting London's commitment to hosting a truly integrated Paralympic Games. The new Paralympic Games emblem, a stylized graffiti, is dynamic, modern and flexible. It is based on the number 2012 and includes the Paralympic Agitos and the word 'London'. The same 2012 image, with the Olympic rings, symbolizes the Olympic Games.

International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Sir Philip Craven, IPC CEO Xavier Gonzalez and IPC Marketing & Communication Director Phil Newton also attended the launching event.

Said Sir Philip: "We look forward to a very strong brand presence for the Paralympic Games in London which fully reflects the excitement and drama of the Games and Britain's status as the founding nation for the Paralympic Movement."

Messages of support from the Prime Minister, Opposition leader David Cameron, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Menzies Cambell, Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell, the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone and International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge and IPC President Sir Philip Craven were aired at the launch, alongside with footage capturing the excitement and enthusiasm of the British public.

Approved by IOC and IPC, the unique new brand mark will be legally protected, offering London 2012 and its sponsors maximum protection from copying and ambush marketing.

The new brand mark will become London 2012's visual icon, instantly recognizable amongst all age groups, all around the world. It will be the face of the 2012 Games and replaces London's 'Candidate City' logo, which was established in November 2003.
