(BEIJING, May 24) -- Tu Mingde, Assistant to the President of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), met with visiting U.K. Sport Chief Executive Officer John Steele on Thursday.

Mr. Tu briefed his U.K. guest on the preparatory work for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and both sides expressed their hopes that the 2008 Beijing Olympics will help boost exchange and cooperation in the area of sport between China and the United Kingdom.

John Steele is visiting China at the invitation of the State General Administration of Sport.
