(BEIJING, June 15) -- Belgian Crown Prince Philippe visited the construction site of the National Stadium, the main stadium for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on Friday.

Accompanied by Wang Wei, executive vice-president and secretary-general of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), the Crown Prince also toured the National Aquatics Center, or "Water Cube."

During a visit to the exhibition of the projects for the 2008 Olympic Games, he was invited to lay a symbolic foundation stone for the scripture of famous Belgian sculptor Olivier Strebelle, jointly with Wang Wei and the sculptor himself.

The large sculpture entitled "The Road of the Athletes" shows five athletes holding the Olympic rings. The work will be placed at the north of the Olympic Village.

Oliver Strevbelle started conceiving a sculpture for the Olympic Movement 20 years ago at the invitation of Juan Antonio Samaranch, honorary president of the International Olympic Committee.
