Guide dogs which can take orders in both Chinese and English will appear to help visually impaired athletes in the 2008 Paralympics.
These "bilingual" dogs are trained according to international practice, and can follow orders like "up, go, stop, sit, right and left".
Other than Chinese and English, the dogs are able to understand sign language as well.
The training of each dog costs over 100 thousand yuan, about 13 thousand US dollars.
At least five such dogs will be provided for the 2008 Paralympics by China's first guide dog training center in the coastal city of Dalian.
