(SHENYANG, July 23) -- Are you ready for the "Broadband Olympics"?

In keeping with its mantra of hosting a "High-tech Olympics" the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will stand out from previous Olympiads as the first true "Broadband Olympics."

During Games-time, the main media center, the International Broadcast Center, and the media rooms of the various Olympic venues here in Shenyang for the football competition, will be equipped with 100 mbps broadband connection at every connection point. This will allow the assembled world media corps to file their stories instantly.

Reporters will find access to the Net and broadband connection easy and convenient -- they will only need to insert an IC card, sans password.

The necessary communications equipment has already arrived in Beijing, Qinhuangdao, Qingdao, Shenyang, and Tianjin.
