(BEIJING, November 2)-- Beijing will deliver on its promise made during its Olympic bid to improve the air quality and will take considerable measures during the Games to provide an excellent environment for the athletes from around the world, said BOCOG President Liu Qi.

Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, made the remarks in New York on Wednesday while briefing the media on the latest progress with the preprations for 2008 Olympic Games.
