(BEIJING, October 31) -- In the first three quarters of 2007, Beijing's gross product has risen to 641.98 billion yuan, a 12.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This is the ninth consecutive year with double-digital economic growth.
According to the officer in charge of Beijing's Reform and Development Committee, currently Beijing's economy is in a fast, sustainable, and stable development stage.
A feature of the first three quarters' economic development in Beijing is that the stability has strengthened and development quality improved, mainly embodied in the following aspects:
First, the increasing scale of commodity prices is relatively low.
Second, the investment growth remains stable.
Third, structural support is stable and the contribution of the service sector to the economy is apparent.
Fourth, the quality and efficiency of development continues to improve stably and the development benefits the general public.
