WUHAN, Central China, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Hosts Wuhan took home the fourth title in tennis tournament of the Sixth Chinese City as local favorites Zhou Yimiao/Bai Xi beat Zhong Yi/Zheng Junyi 2-1 in the all-Wuhan women's doubles final on Friday.
Team Wuhan has already wrapped up men's team, women's team and mixed doubles titles earlier in the tournament exclusively for teenagers in China.
It was also Zhou's third trophy in the tournament after she help the hosts win team title and paired Bai Yan to take the mixed doubles.
In one of the most absorbing matches so far, Zhou and Bai Xi fought back from four games down in the third set to win the final at 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-2) over their teammates in two hours and 40 minutes.
Zhou/Bai did not have too much trouble in winning the first set at 6-2 in only 25 minutes after three service breaks, but the duo were seriously tested in the remaining time, with Zhong and Zheng finding their range.
Zhong hit a string of powerful ground strokes in the fourth game,helping the combination storm to a 3-1 lead in the second set.
At 5-4 with Zhong Serving out for the set, Zhou and Bai restored their nice game by intercepting on the net three times, leveling the match at 5-5.
The set finally had to be decided by a tie break, where Zhong/Zheng won at 7-3.
Zhou and Bai seemed to be running out of gas in the third set, trailing at 4-0. However, the duo showed some battling qualities to claim the set and the whole match at 7-6 (7-2).
