WELLINGTON, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand's Olympic Torch carrier was announced Wednesday.

Hamilton's 24-year-old Aaron Fleming overcame a debilitating lung disease as a teenager and is now a competitive iron man.

Olympic Committee Secretary-General Barry Maister said Fleming's determination to succeed should be an inspiration to all New Zealanders.

The Olympic Torch relay begins in Athens in April, and will stop in 22 cities before arriving in China on May 4.
